From Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus. In three and a half months.

We rebuilt mariagalland.com for the premium cosmetics brand Maria Galland Paris: international markets, six languages, AI skin analysis and an institute finder covering more than 2,000 beauty institutes. Live since 1 July 2026.

The project

Enterprise capabilities, without unnecessary weight.

Maria Galland Paris has stood for premium institute cosmetics for decades, selling through beauty institutes and directly to consumers. Its existing shop ran on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, an enterprise platform whose complexity and operating effort no longer matched the brand's setup.

The requirements remained demanding: a market setup spanning the EU, Switzerland in Swiss francs and a worldwide showcase, six languages, SAP fulfilment in the background and functions that no standard toolkit provides.

Our answer was Shopify Plus, a deliberately lean core and a clearly separated extension layer that provides exactly what the brand needs and nothing beyond it.

Process

From decision to go-live.

1
Platform decision
Autumn 2025: Shopify Plus selected over Salesforce Commerce Cloud, theme foundation chosen, project scope and market architecture defined.
2
Implementation in three and a half months
Late March to June 2026: shop build with a clearly separated extension layer, international markets, more than 10,000 translations, Klaviyo, tracking with Consent Mode and SAP integration.
3
Go-live week
Late June 2026: domain cutover, migration of the complete customer and order history, 3,789 redirects and final acceptance. mariagalland.com went live on 1 July.
4
Stabilisation and refinement
Immediately after launch: a performance sprint raised the mobile Lighthouse score from 57 to 93, followed by continued hardening and handover into regular operations.
What we built

Six building blocks, one shop.

01
International markets
One architecture for the EU, Switzerland in Swiss francs and a worldwide showcase mode, with six languages, hreflang and canonicals set up correctly.
02
Institute finder
More than 2,000 beauty institutes as structured data, with clustered map search and radius filtering. The selected institute is carried through to the order.
03
AI skin analysis
Available online and as an in-institute kiosk: analysis, product recommendations added directly to the cart and clean tracking integration.
04
Added value in the cart
Gift tiers and a curated sample selection, protected against abuse. Every cart becomes part of the brand experience.
05
SAP fulfilment
Orders flow through middleware into the logistics partner's SAP system, while inventory flows back into the shop. Commerce and logistics share the same operating data.
06
SEO migration
3,789 redirects from the previous system, without chains or known 404 issues at launch. Organic visibility continues to be monitored following the recent release.

Approach and technology

Built cleanly, designed to remain maintainable.

Every adaptation sits in its own extension layer, clearly separated from the theme standard. Updates remain possible at any time, every change stays traceable, and nothing is a black box.
